One-Line Bio

I'm a yarn and sweater shop owner, happily married, with Nick and Nora, our 2 kittens; and Grace, a slightly neurotic older cat.

Biography

I'm that rare creature, the native Mainer. Born and raised in Aroostook County (that tippy-top part that sticks into Canada), living currently in Maine's mid-coast region, I am a yarn and sweater shop owner. I taught junior high English and social studies for 14 years, but about 13 years ago I quit that racket to work in a yarn shop. After my sister died suddenly, I realized that life is too short to spend it doing anything other than what one loves. After the owner of the yarn store also suddenly died, I was able to purchase the business and carry on. Owning a yarn shop gives me a view of the knitting world that most knitters never see, so I hope my blog can pull that curtain back a little. You know you're here to see the seamy side of knitting....
