I am a victim of the copy/paste demon. When I uploaded my class list to the Unique One store website I had neglected to change the date on 2 of the classes.... please find the correct dates and class schedule here.
Unique One is having a yarn sale -- 20% off all yarn in stock! The sale started today and will end on Sunday, February 1.
Also, I have updated my winter class list to include the Sunday classes that *I* will be teaching. I tell ya, there is something going on nearly every weekend between now and May. It's just one big knitting party here all winter long! Here is my new and improved class list:
Class: Learn to knit cables and textures
When: February 14 & 28, 10 am to 2 pm
Where: Cappy's, in the Crow's Nest upstairs
Instructor: Wendy Ford
Materials you need to bring: Size 6 needles; 150 grams sport weight or
DK weight yarn (recommended: 3 skeins of Heilo or Classic 150 or
Cashsoft DK); a cable needle
Cost: $50.00 includes lunch both days, instruction and a scarf pattern
Class: All About Yarn
When: February 15, 10 am to 2 pm
Where: Cappy's, in the Crow's Nest upstairs
Instructor: Beth Collins
Materials you need to bring: This is a "talking" class, so all you need
to bring are your ears and something to take notes with. This class
will answer all those yarn questions you have had but were afraid to
ask :)
Cost: $30.00 includes lunch, and instruction.
Class: Learn 2-color knitting

Materials you need to bring: Size 7 16-inch circular needles and a set
of size 7 double pointed needles; 2 skeins of Maine wool or other
worsted weight yarn

Class: How to Knit a Gauge Swatch and Use It to Improve Your Knitting!
When: March 22, 10 am to 2 pm
Where: Cappy's, in the Crow's Nest upstairs

Materials you need to bring: scrap yarn and needles suitable in size to
work with your yarn; tape measure or ruler; calculator; paper and
pencil.
Cost: $30.00 includes lunch, and instruction.
Class: Finishing Techniques
When: March 22, 10 am to 2 pm
Where: Cappy's, in the Crow's Nest upstairs
Instructor: Beth Collins
Materials you need to bring: scrap yarn and needles suitable in size to
work with your yarn; any unfinished garment that you would like help or
advice on as to how to finish it; tapestry needle; crochet hook;
patience.
Cost: $30.00 includes lunch, and instruction.
Class: Reading and altering patterns
When: April 4, 10 am to 2 pm
Where: Cappy's, in the Crow's Nest upstairs
Instructor: Wendy Ford
Materials you need to bring: worsted weight scrap yarn and suitable
needles for knitting test swatches, a pattern or book of patterns, an
idea for a project you want to alter or understand, graph paper and
regular paper, pencil, calculator
Cost: $30.00 includes lunch and instruction
Class: Knitting Portuguese Style!
Learn to knit the Portuguese way, in which purling is faster than
knitting! This class will get you started, and the included DVD will
enable you to do ANY knitting technique the Portuguese way, including
increasing, decreasing, knitting with beads, and knitting with two
colors!Also, learn the Portuguese bind off. Portuguese knitting is
different from both American and Continental knitting; it is fast,
efficient, and easier on your hands. The DVD will also teach you how to
measure your gauge, do Kitchener Stitch, seam with the Mattress Stitch,
3 different ways to cast on and 3 different ways to bind off, and how
to join your work into a round.
When: March 22, 10 am to 2 pm
Where: Cappy's, in the Crow's Nest upstairs
Instructor: Beth Collins
Materials you need to bring: scrap yarn and needles suitable in size to
work with your yarn; optional: bring your laptop, if it can play
DVD's.... so you can practice after lunch.
Cost: $65.00 includes lunch, a knitting hook, an instructional DVD on
Portuguese knitting techniques, and instruction.

register. Prepayment is required and is nonrefundable. Classes must
have at least 3 people enrolled to occur; class size is limited to 10.
If classes must be cancelled due to bad weather, they will be
rescheduled. If you miss a class, you cannot make it up and neither
will your fee be refunded for that class.
Request a class! If enough people request a particular class, it is more likely to be offered. Beth is willing to offer a class if 6 or more people are interested in signing up to learn a particular skill together.
I hope you can come take a class! Classes are held at Cappy's, next door to Unique One, and we have coffee and muffins in the morning, a great lunch, and cookies in the afternoon. AND great knitting learning going on... and time to knit and wind down in the afternoon. It's like a mini-vacation every weekend here. Won't you come join us?

I did in fact finish my Snowbird Mittens before Christmas, and gave them to my sister in law. I hope she likes them!
